About Us
Welcome to the Stanbury Village School Website. We hope it gives you a flavour of what goes on in our Small School and is informative to pupils, parents and those new to our school.
We work hard to provide the best possible education for your child. This means that not only do we concentrate on teaching the basic skills to all our children, but we also help them develop socially spiritually and morally. Our curriculum is exciting, challenging and relevant to the children we teach. We often swop our usual uniforms for capes or Trainee Hero T-shirts depending on our school theme! Educational visits and visitors also play an integral role in our curriculum and we ensure that all children have the chance to participate.
Early education is a major focus at Stanbury, we have a Foundation Stage Unit comprising of a Nursery and Reception Class and provide ‘wrap around care’ to compliment educational provision in the Nursery.
Our before and after school care extends through the whole school providing a home from home in our family orientated school. We also have many after school clubs such as Wildlife Explorers, Art Club, Music clubs and various Sports Clubs to mention but a few.
Our high educational, behavioural and social standards are achieved by the school working in partnership with you, the parent. Our behaviour policy is ‘Fair but Firm’ and is complimented by our home school agreement. We make every effort to ensure that each child feels happy and secure at school, having a sense of being cared for and their voice valued. If for any reason a child becomes worried or upset – we act immediately, working with parents to resolve any issues that might arise.
All children are special at Stanbury and his or her needs are addressed and progress tracked carefully through our rigorous and ongoing assessment procedures. When necessary we put in place individual learning programmes and involve outside agencies to support your child whether they are finding work challenging or require an even greater challenge!
Our aim is to turn out well rounded individuals who have achieved their full potential – we can do this through working in partnership with you the parent. Do come and talk to me, in confidence, if you have any questions about the information on the website or any concerns regarding your child.
